Awards for Indigenous and Latinx Artists
Vashon Artist Residency, located on Vashon Island in the Salish Sea of Washington State, welcomes applications from BIPOC artists from around the world. The deadline to apply is 11:59pm PST, August 25, 2022.
Two Indigenous and/or Latinx artists who reside in King County, Washington and have been accepted through the Vashon Artist Residency application process will be offered a full scholarship to attend a 3.5 week session at Vashon Artist Residency during 2023, as well as a $500 stipend toward living expenses while in attendance.
In an effort to further our equity efforts, we have worked with Nepantla Cultural Arts Center and yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective to encourage applications from artists from the Latinx and Indigenous communities. These communities were the least represented BIPOC communities in our previous applicant pool.
This equity work was made possible, in part, through a grant from 4Culture.
