2023 Indigenous and Latine Scholarships and Stipends

Vashon Artist Residency is excited to award three local Indigenous and Latinx artists accepted for 2023 with a full scholarship to attend a 3.5-week session, as well as a $500 stipend toward living expenses while in attendance.

During our application cycle for 2023, we encouraged applications from BIPOC artists, specifically from Latinx and Indigenous communities, as they were the least represented marginalized groups in our previous applicant pool.

This equity work was made possible, in part, by a grant from 4Culture and outreach relationships with our friends at Nepantla Cultural Arts Center and yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective. We look forward to welcoming these three artists to Vashon for their residency sessions in 2023.
